On Wednesday, 18 students from Peking University took their first steps into the "Bird's Nest." This first batch of volunteers represents the 1,800 that will be offering their services to the National Stadium during the upcoming "Good Luck Beijing" events and the Olympic Games in August.
Dressed in the colors of their school, the volunteers marched into the National Stadium, accompanied by management personnel. Although the venue isn't completely finished, the volunteers, as the first members of the general audience to step foot into the "Bird's Nest," could still see the beauty innate in the facility.
The manager led the volunteers to see the highest audience stands on the southern side of the stadium, while explaining the different aspects of the "Bird's Nest" and what kind of volunteer work would be expected from them.
While the head of the volunteers explained in detail the work involved, the eager students listened, took notes, and asked questions. After the training concluded, they excitedly took out their cameras to snap souvenir photos.
The volunteers are quite excited about the "Good Luck Beijing" competitions that will be carried out in the National Stadium, eager to do their part to ensure the success of the Olympic Games.
In April and May of this year, the "Bird's Nest" will welcome three different "Good Luck Beijing" events. At this time, the National Stadium will show its face to the entire world.
